Bringing ‘President’ and ‘Kildare’ back from Nottingham to the BCLM last year, we were lucky enough to be invited to moor for the night at the Stafford Boat Club’s wonderful facilities. Having cleaned the boats and ourselves up, we made our way up to the splendid Club House and partook of the odd libation (to help us sleep you understand).

Anyway, while collecting some drinks from the bar, I noticed the Stafford Club’s very extensive collection of boating pennants from all over the world.

Commenting on the collection back at the table it struck us that as Friends of ‘President’, we do not have such a pennant of our own, either to use as a “thank you” gift for club’s such as the Stafford, for Rally organisers or for those of us lucky enough to have our own boats, to fly, while boating, or at rallies.

Cutting a longish conversation short (more lubrication required) we decided to run a competition amongst the membership for the design of such a pennant for ‘FoP’. So now is your chance to exercise those artistic talents and come up with some super designs for us all.

The closing date for submissions is the end of March 2005 and we will have a prize for the winner (no, not a lump of painted coal David!!!)

Assuming we can get a sensible quote for the winning design, we will then have a quantity made up for Members to buy and for gifts as above.
